Swiss Maturité
The Swiss Maturité (Matura) is the national upper-secondary leaving certificate. It gives direct access to every Swiss university, including ETH Zurich and EPFL, without an entrance examination. There are two ways to obtain it. At a gymnasium whose Matura is recognised under the MAR/MAV, the school itself awards it on its own examinations. Everyone else sits the Swiss Maturity Examination, an external exam set by the Swiss Maturity Commission, for which private schools prepare candidates. Both routes lead to the same certificate. Each school page states which route the school offers.
