Freies Gymnasium Bern, known as the freigymer, is a private day school at Beaulieustrasse in Bern, with a history the school puts at 165 years. It teaches at two stages, the Volksschule years and the Gymnasium, and leads students to the Swiss Matura. Alongside the standard gymnasium track it runs a MINT focus in science and technology, a bilingual programme adding English, focus classes and a talent-development strand. The school operates under a performance contract with the canton of Bern. There is no boarding; pupils attend as day students.
