The Schweizerische Sportmittelschule Engelberg has trained Swiss snow-sport athletes since 1994, and states that as its motto. It is an official Swiss Olympic sports school and operates national performance centres for snow-sport disciplines under Swiss-Ski. The sports covered are alpine skiing, freestyle skiing and the Nordic disciplines of cross-country, biathlon and ski jumping. It teaches at middle-school level and provides residential accommodation on site. The school is governed by a board of directors with an advisory board alongside.
