SIS Swiss International School Zürich is a private bilingual day school in Wallisellen, on the north-eastern edge of the city, taking children from age four to the end of upper secondary. Its kindergarten covers ages four to six, followed by primary and secondary school and then the SIS Bilingual College, which leads to the bilingual Swiss Matura and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. German and English are both languages of instruction, used across the curriculum rather than taught only as subjects. The school day has fixed hours, with lunch and supervised homework periods. Around 320 students attend, from more than 40 nationalities. The campus opened in 2005 and is one of seven SIS schools in Switzerland; the wider group runs 20 schools in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Brazil.
