About the School
Terra Nova Bilingual School is a state-recognised bilingual day school on Florastrasse in Küsnacht, on the eastern shore of Lake Zurich, founded in 1996. Around 150 children between three and twelve are taught by more than forty teachers, from a pre-kindergarten year through kindergarten to the end of primary. Teaching is bilingual in German and English, and the school states its first aim plainly: to prepare pupils for entry to a long- or short-form gymnasium. It belongs to the Academia Group alongside sister schools in Basel and Winterthur, and pupils finishing the sixth class are guaranteed a place without examination at the long-form gymnasium of the Academia International School Zürich. The school takes its motto from the idea of opening doors to new worlds.
