About the School
Lakeside School is a bilingual day school with campuses in Horgen and Küsnacht, on Lake Zurich. It was founded in 1996 and is run by a non-profit foundation, which states that all school fees are reinvested in the school. Teaching runs from pre-kindergarten and kindergarten through primary Grades 1 to 6 and on to a bilingual Matura. English and German are not only taught as subjects but used as the languages of instruction in every subject. Classes average 12 to 15 students, and kindergarten groups run at one adult to eight or ten children. Thirty-one nationalities are represented. The school is state-recognised and follows Lehrplan 21.
