Freies Gymnasium Zürich is a state-recognised private gymnasium at Arbenzstrasse in central Zurich. It was founded in 1888. The school runs several entry routes: preparatory classes in years 5 and 6, a Progymnasium, and both the Langgymnasium and Kurzgymnasium tracks, plus a third-year progymnasial class. Students work towards the Swiss Matura, and both monolingual and bilingual pathways are available. It is a day school, with no boarding. The school states that it prepares young people not only for university study but for a continually changing world.
