About the School
The International School of Geneva, known as Ecolint, is a day school spread across three campuses in and around Geneva: La Grande Boissière in the city, La Châtaigneraie in Founex and the Campus des Nations in Le Grand-Saconnex. It opened in 1924 and describes itself as the world's first international school. Around 4,450 students attend, representing 140 nationalities and 80 home languages. Ecolint is an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) World School Continuum, offering IB programmes from the primary years through to the Diploma, and it was the birthplace of the IB itself. Middle school is taught only at La Grande Boissière; the other two campuses run primary and secondary. The school also provides learning support and runs its own arts centre and teacher-training institute.
