About the School
The International School of Berne is a private day school in Gümligen, just outside Bern, for students aged 3 to 18. Around 275 students attend. Founded in 1961, it teaches in English, with a German pathway following the Swiss Lehrplan 21 running alongside. Students take the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme in Grades 1 to 5, the Middle Years Programme in Grades 6 to 10, and then either the IB Diploma or the IB Bilingual Diploma in Grades 11 and 12. The school also runs after-school English courses and summer camps. It is an IB World School accredited by NEASC and ECIS.
