French Curriculum (Primary & Lower Secondary)
Schools following the French national curriculum teach the official programmes of the French Ministry of Education, from maternelle (ages 3-6) through élémentaire and collège. Many are homologated by the AEFE, the agency for French education abroad, which lets pupils move between French schools worldwide without losing a year. The cycle ends with the Diplôme National du Brevet at the close of troisième, opening onto the lycée and the French Baccalaureate.
