The Montessori Schule Zürich is at Scheuchzerstrasse in Zurich and works with children from 3 to 6 years. It was founded in 1976 as the first private Montessori Kinderhaus in the canton of Zurich, opening with seven children; by the spring of 1977 it had reached 25, the group size Montessori pedagogy calls for. Teaching is in German and follows the Montessori method. The school states that considerate interaction and mutual respect are the principles it works from. It runs as a day setting rather than a boarding one.
