École Toepffer is a private French school in Geneva, taking students from age 11 through both lower and upper secondary. It follows the Geneva cantonal programme until the end of compulsory schooling, then the French national programme leading to the baccalauréat français. Under an agreement with the Académie de Grenoble, pupils sit the baccalauréat with continuous assessment. Around 150 students attend, and the school also runs a boarding house. Teaching is in French, with German, English, Spanish and Italian taught as languages, plus French as a foreign language for pupils arriving without it. The school was founded in 1954 and named after the Genevan writer and schoolmaster Rodolphe Töpffer, whose saying it still uses as its motto.
