Institut Catholique La Salésienne is a private Catholic day school on Route de Veyrier, on the southern edge of Geneva. The work began in 1919 with Paola Gloria of the Italian Mission and the school opened in 1922 on Rue de la Servette, moving in 1951 to its present property in Veyrier, a house dating from 1850. It is run by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and follows the Salesian pedagogy of Don Bosco, summed up in the school's motto: without affection there is no trust, and without trust no education. Around 350 pupils attend, from kindergarten at three to the eighth primary year, and supervised care runs from seven in the morning until half past six. The school is certified to ISO 9001, carries the Swiss School Impulse label, is an Eco-School, and belongs to the Association Genevoise des Écoles Privées.
