TASIS, The American School in Switzerland, is a day and boarding school in Montagnola, above Lugano, taking students from pre-kindergarten to a postgraduate year. More than 700 students attend, of whom around 260 live on campus, and roughly 60 nationalities are represented each year, with more than 35 mother tongues among them. The curriculum is American college-preparatory, with Advanced Placement courses and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma available in the senior years. M. Crist Fleming founded the school in 1956. TASIS is accredited by the European Council of International Schools and by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
