Rudolf Steiner Schule Berner Oberland is a private Waldorf day school in Steffisburg, near Thun, taking children from kindergarten through to the ninth class. Teaching follows Steiner pedagogy, and the school runs a playgroup and a forest playgroup before kindergarten, then the Unterstufe, Mittelstufe and Oberstufe. Pupils present a ninth-class project in their final year. The school was founded in 1980 and takes its guiding words from Rudolf Steiner: receive the child in reverence, educate it in love, let it go forth in freedom.
