Leysin American School is a boarding school in Leysin, in the Vaud Alps, for students in the secondary years. More than 300 students attend, and the campus is ski-in, ski-out: students ski every Tuesday and Thursday through the winter. Founded in 1961, the school has been run by the Ott family for three generations. Students can take the United States High School Diploma, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Advanced Placement courses, and an English Language Acquisition programme supports those still building the language. Alongside academics the school runs its Changemakers programme in innovation and entrepreneurship, a university advising service, and annual cultural trips that reach 14 countries. Its alumni number more than 8,000, across 112 countries.
